Toward the end of my stay in August 2002, the curfew got relaxed a bit and we were able to do some real volunteer work. Most of this was in the refugee camps right outside of Nablus, Askar and Balata.

These are two large camps, that have existed for many decades, and over time, actual houses have been routinely built by the locals and destroyed by the IDF, and rebuilt again.
